According to IMF's Regional Economic Outlook for 2024 (https://www.imf.org/en/Publications/REO/SSA/Issues/2024/04/19/regional-economic-outlook-for-sub-saharan-africa-april-2024), Sub-Saharan Africa is poised to register economic growth rates of 3.8 % and 4.0 % in 2024 and 2025 respectively.

In this context, our post compared the GDP annual growth rates of a few select African countries for the period (1999-2023).

According to the World Bank, Rwanda had the highest GDP growth in 2023 at 8.24%. Kenya registered an annual growth rate of 5.43% during the same year.
